Anticipation... & 'What Would You Do With This?'

I have such a great surprise for you all-- but I can't tell you what it is until it's ready!

But trust me, it's great. In fact, it's downright FABULOUS (that's the only hint I can give you!) Plus, it will be combined with my very first blog giveaway, which makes it even greater!

But it's not quite ready. So, while I get my act together, let's play a new game I like to call 'What Would You Do With This?'

It's all about the idea of unusual found objects, and their appeal. I fell in love with this, er-- thing (I don't know what it's for!!) last week... the wheel turns, and the hole at the top makes me think it would have been strung on something, but I really don't know... maybe a clothesline pulley? But it's quite a bit smaller than others I've seen (5" long and 3 1/4" wide).

Why do I like this thing? I really don't know! But I can't seem to help myself-- it's just holds a certain visual appeal for me. But here's what I'd like to know from all of you: What would you do with it? How would you display it? Would you alter it? Add anything? Try to make it serve a practical purpose beyond just looking kinda cool?

Would you display it with something else?

Please, tell me what you would do with this thing!
And I'll scoot off to get my surprise ready. With any luck, it will be ready to post in the next day or two... but I'll be checking back often in between (hey, I need ideas for the thing!)

Until then,

Eh, well, er, ah, ok, you've stumped me. i am not that clever...I'll think about it and come back if something brilliant comes to mind! (ps. don't hold your breath...i don't want you to pass out waiting for my brilliant idea to come to mind).

Happy day,
Melissa

I have one that I salvaged from my barn, and it has a different wheel, an open one instead of solid. I use it as a towel holder in my husband's office bathroom.

There was another one on the barn, and I just hang it on the garden fence because I like the shape of it. They were a set of pulleys.

You are right it is a clothesline pulley. I grew up with this in our home and my parent home still has one.
You can use it for so many other things as well.
